Multi-day training camps afford bowlers an opportunity to learn advanced tournament bowling skills and strategies, often from international coaches.
Camps are open to everyone but are a requirement for bowlers applying to Team USA.
They allow the National Team Selectors a chance to observe all bowlers' skills and behaviors, helping them field the best participants/teams for each event.
Training camps are sponsored by Bowls USA in coordination with the National Team Selectors.
joining team usa
Team USA represents the U.S. in major world bowls events.
While any member of Bowls USA may apply to Team USA, selection is made by a committee of National Selectors based on the bowler's demonstrated ability and willingness to compete at the international level.
Team USA application periods are advertised on the Bowls USA and Division websites as the need occurs. Some years have four or more events and others have one or two events. Teams are selected for each event and not all teams are the same combination of players.
