Bowls USA
Bowls USA governs and is an advocate for the sport of bowls in the United States. We are a proud member of World Bowls, which oversees bowls development worldwide and maintains the Laws of the Sport.
We invite those unfamiliar with this wonderful game to browse our site and learn more. Better yet, visit a club and roll a few. We think you’ll fall in love with sport and its people. We did! More . . .

President's Message

Dear Bowls USA Members,
I hope everyone is continuing to stay safe during this pandemic. I would like to start off by thanking Scott Roberts, Dee McSparran, and Richard Broad for their many years of service as Bowls USA Officers. I am lucky Scott will be serving on the Board as Immediate Past President. I would also like to welcome the new Bowls USA Executive Committee and look forward to working with them and our 14 Divisional Councilors to accomplish some of my goals as President over the next two years.
Below are some goals that have been shared in the past. They are my priority and I hope to see some progress during my tenure.
Many of our bowlers ask, “Who is Bowls USA?” This is hard to put into words but fortunately, Janice Bell (PIMD) created an organizational chart a few years ago and I think it is a great starting point, especially for us, visual people. This chart of Bowls USA maps and answers the question of who we are. I plan to take this further and open up these committees to the general membership. Therefore, I am asking all of you, if you have an interest/background/experience in any of these committees, to join and help me take this organization to the next level or realize the potential that I see this organization to be.
Finally, we usually have our Bowls USA Annual General Meeting right before the US Open, which is available to all members to attend. With this pandemic, we had to have our meeting online. Moving forward, I have decided to share the minutes and supporting materials of this meeting also here for all of you to see what we do, what was discussed and eventually approved.
I know December is a month for all of us to wrap things up and to get ready for the upcoming year. With this pandemic, it has been a very strange and unpredictable year for lawn bowls, and we are all hoping that things will soon go back to normal. I look forward to what lies ahead with our bowling season and I am eager to provide updates in the new year.
In the meantime, if you have any feedback, ideas, or interest in any of our committees including questions on specific roles, please reach out to me at presidentbusa@gmail.com
Wishing you and your families the absolute best during the holiday season as well as a very Happy New Year!
Warmest regards,
